Summer Productions translates and supervises voice-over records in multiple languages that have included Spanish for US and Latin American audiences, French (Canadian), Arabic, Kazakh, Bangla, and Estonian. Summer uses a meticulous process of review for all translations.
Produced for Discovery Channel, Canada and the Canadian Diabetes Association, broadcast in Canada in English and French. With patient profiles and interviews, the program helps clarify common misconceptions about diabetes and shows how people with diabetes can lead healthy, normal lives – with help of a supportive multidisciplinary health care team.
For a dozen years, Summer Productions produced Discovery Networks’ educational service with the award winning shows that included Discovery Channel’s Assignment Discovery for high school and TLC Elementary School for younger children, airing on TLC. Discovery Education’s website provided complementary lesson plans for teachers and interactive activities for students.
Assignment Discovery aired week days 9:00 – 10:00 am ET and PT providing educators with the best of Discovery owned programs tailored for upper middle and high school classrooms. Assignment Discovery won numerous awards for individual programs and later a National Daytime Emmy award for the series. Produced by Summer Productions for twelve years.
TLC Elementary School, a weekly half-hour show designed for children in grades K-6, with each episode consisting of a single theme with two or three story segments using stunning images from Discovery’s library of programming and scripted, edited and narrated for a young learning audience. This series also won numerous awards for individual programs and a National Daytime Emmy award for the series. Produced by Summer Productions for twelve years.
For Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, Travel Channel, and Discovery International, Summer has re-versioned international programs and series, tailoring them for specific US audiences – series like St. Michael's Hospital (6 hours), Curiosities Around the World (26 half hours), and Animals A to Z (55 episodes). Re-versioning includes rewriting the script as appropriate, renarration, additional licensed footage, re-design of graphics and new music.
